| Welcome Note |
| Dear Parents and Pupils, Welcome to our Class Website. It is my hope that this site will be a supplemental source of information, encouragement and communication for all of us. In the Class Photographs section, please feel free to forward me some photographs or notes of encouragement (via email) for your child and for the rest of his classmates. For pupils, you will be able to find your spelling/dictation lists as well as datelines for your assignments under the Assignments section. I have also included a small section of Study Tips to aid us in our learning journey. If you have any useful websites to recommend, please forward the link to us so that I can share it with the class. I look forward to a wonderful partnership with you as we strive for all-rounded excellence and achievement!
Sincerely, Mr Morgan Zhou

| Introduction Letter 3 January 2007 Dear Parents and Guardians, Thank you for taking time to read my letter. Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Morgan and I will be the form teacher of 4.4 this year. 12 of my formative years were spent with the Anglo-Chinese family (ACS(Junior), ACS(Independent) and ACJC) before I completed my undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore. After my teacher training at the National Institute of Education, I was posted back to ACS(Junior) as a teacher. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Education (English Language) part time and will be looking to use my training to help your child realize his academic goals. I hope to pass on the vision of what the school stands for to your Boy as we work towards academic and all-rounded excellence. Let me say that your Boy has a calling, a life purpose to be all that he can be, to maximize the innate potential within himself. The work that we do here in ACS(Junior) has implications for his studies, but its ramifications reach far wider than that. I will do my best to help your son develop his giftedness, improve upon his weaknesses and find his place in community life with his peers and friends. To aid us in this learning journey, I have also prepared a class website (http://www.morgangela.com/class44.htm) as a supplemental source of information, encouragement and communication tool for all of us. Feel free to drop me a note anytime via email (morganzhou@gmail.com) if you would like to update me on any matter. Let me take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your support and partnership as we work towards raising aspiring, confident, caring servant leaders who are a joy to self and others! Yours sincerely, Morgan Zhou You Qin Form Teacher, 4.4

| Pupil Progress 23 January 2007 Dear Parents and Guardians, The first 3 weeks of school has zipped by so quickly. We are almost done with one third of the term. The Boys have settled in well to all the class processes and are working well in their groups. Do take time to encourage your son for the excellent effort put into guiding his Primary One buddy. Let him know that you are proud of him and that he has proven himself to be capable and responsible. The Primary One teacher even mentioned that some of the Primary One Boys were still asking for their buddy to accompany them to recess! According to the scheme of work, we are on track and progressing well. In fact, we are slightly ahead of some of the other classes. The Boys in our class have been forthcoming with questions to clarify their doubts. Continue to stress to your son that he is free to approach me to clarify his doubts. We have also started some hands-on activities in the Science Laboratory and e-Lessons at the Computer Laboratory. Hopefully this will give the Boys an added dimension of fun and excitement in their learning journey. I have also been sharing stories with the Boys on alternate days. As they listen to the stories being read, it is my desire that they will be able to model after and pick up good communication skills. I am also encouraged by the maturity of thought shown by some of our Boys in their journal reflections and responses to the stories. Clearly, we have made good progress not only in the cognitive but affective domains as well. If you have anything else to update the class or myself, please feel free to contact me or drop me a note. I wish you all good health and a fantastic year ahead! Yours sincerely, Morgan Zhou You Qin Form Teacher, 4.4

| Meet the parents 20 March 2007 Dear Parents and Guardians, I hope that you have had a good break with your son/ward during the March holidays. For the teachers, we were busy marking and compiling the CA1 examination scripts. I am pleased as a whole that many of the Boys in our class are showing some improvements as compared to their previous year's SA1 results. However, the content matter tested in a CA1 is much less as compared to the SA1 and SA2. Therefore it is important for your son/ward to start his studying and revision now. You would have received the Principal's letter by now, asking you to state your preference as to which dates to meet up with the teachers. I will be more than glad to meet up with you and share with you how your son/ward is progressing. If you are unable to meet up with me, feel free to drop me an email. Please return a hard copy of the reply slip to me through your son. I will also be collecting the Methodist Walk donation cards and the health booklets today. Have a pleasant week ahead! Yours sincerely, Morgan Zhou You Qin Form Teacher, 4.4
